Druid lore + gaming help

Racials are a bit of a mixed bag for Druids.
For Feral, Tauren have 5 more base hp, Nightelves have +1 dodge.
The other Racial differences don’t really help too much. Nightelves can stealth in any form (except bear?), but as Druids can stealth in cat form anyway.
Tauren have a short AoE stun with warstomp that stuns 5 guys for 2 secs, which can be good for interrupting or running away. Can be cast in Caster, Moonkin and Tree forms only though.
Nightelves have a handy whisp form when they die, which makes them move at +50 movespeed, which is great for long corpse runs.
Both have a nature resistance of Ten, and Tauren have +10 to Herbalism.
As for who the first Druids are, it appears Tauren were the first, but at some point, forgot, were distracted, turned away from druidism. It’s mentioned on Wowwiki that they were the first, however I’m pretty sure that was just whipped up to explain Tauren druids in the first place, which is why it doesn’t match up exactly with other lore, such as The War of the Ancients. Either way, Malfurion was the first Nightelf Druid.
EDIT: Didn’t see your questions about spec. Generally, feral’s praised as a leveling spec, but if like me you prefer to cast spells, you can level as Balance fine. Might be a little slower (and these days it’d really be just little) but if you don’t like Meleeing, it’ll seem slower.
Endgame Druids can do anything. Tank, Melee DPS, Heal, Caster DPS, we can do em all brilliantly. We offer things to the table that are different to all other classes (when was the last time a mage suddenly helped healing when the priest died – or rezzed the priest?)

For talent builds I recommend Feral. My Druid is Feral spec’d and after getting cat form at level 20 I have had no problems in leveling. Can’t comment on end game as my toon is currently at level 53. I will say that of all the alts I created I like my kitty Druid best.

ShamCow Level 17 Tauren ShamanI have a bit of trouble understanding with which race became the first druids. Taurens say they are from oral history and the Night Elves well said they were taught first by Cenarius. If you could clarify this for me that would be great.
Just a bit of speculation here:
“It describes how Malorne, being hunted by the tauren, bargained with Elune in exchange for help. Malorne accepted Elune’s help and loved her as part of the deal. Elune gave birth to Cenarius from that Wowwiki.com
Does this mean the Tauren created druidism or at least caused it?
Also looking to make a druid in the near future and was wondering as to which race has the upper hand in racials? What is the best spec to go for leveling and what is the end game expectation (tanking, dps, healer)?
